MyPixelVault Thesaurus

The MyPixelVault Thesaurus allows you extend the search capabilities and it could also save you adding many more extra keywords to your images.

When the Thesaurus is enabled (see here for more details) the search engine automatically looks in the thesaurus for any search term entered in the current search. If a search term is found in the thesaurus then each 'related word' for that entry is added to the search list. This means that many search terms can be substituted for a single search term.

Using the thesaurus is also useful to ensure that every relevant image is included as your keyword system may change slighty, so that in some images you use 'vacation' and others 'holiday', in others you may miss it out completely and include 'trip'. You could create a thesaurus entry called 'vacation' and add 'holiday' and 'trip' as related words.

Editing the Thesaurus

a) Type the name of the new thesaurus entry and click +.

b) List of thesaurus entries. Click an entry to open edit it.

c) To add a new "related word" to this thesaurus, add it here and click "+".

d) A list of words related to this thesaurus entry. Delete a selected item using the "-".
